CHURCH 21
VISION TRIPS
TO MONTREAL
WHAT IS A VISION TRIP?
A short-term opportunity to consider partnership in the gospel by spending time with Church 21 leaders in order to learn about the vision & strategy of Church 21 and participate in the mission.

WHY CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE IN A VISION TRIP TO MONTREAL?
Montreal is one of the least-reached cities in the western hemisphere. The city boasts of having a bilingual status, a European culture, and a continual joie de vivre with its ongoing festivals and entertainment. Though Montreal is a post-church society, it remains pre-gospel. The presence of the gospel is limited, but there are some churches praying for revival, awakening, and working toward saturating the city with gospel outposts. For this purpose, we need help.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER A VISION TRIP?
These trips are for churches interested in exploring partnership with Church 21. Therefore, it is essential to have a decision-maker be part of the trip (i.e. Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, Mission team member). Space is limited: We would encourage teams of 2-5 people consider joining a vision trip, and we can only accommodate up to five churches per trip week.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL VISION TRIP SCHEDULE?
- Friday: Arrive & Welcome meal
- Saturday: Visit the city
- Sunday: Participate with English & French congregations
- Monday: Day with our staff team

- Wednesday: Depart in the morning

Yes, if travelling from outside of Canada, you will need a valid passport.
Can anyone enter Canada?
No. Holders of a valid U.S. passport are permitted entry into Canada without a visa, however if you do not have a valid U.S. passport, you may not be able to enter. Certain medical conditions (communicable disease) and criminal records (such as a DUI) may also preclude entry. Do your research ahead of time if you have any concerns about your ability to travel into Canada.
Will I need to rent a vehicle?
No. We will primarily use public transport during your stay. If necessary, we can use Uber or a taxi.
How much money should I plan to bring / have access to?
You will need access to enough to cover five meals during the event, plus any food during travel, perhaps about $150 USD
Do I need to have Canadian cash?
If you are traveling from outside of Canada, your best bet is to use a Visa or Mastercard for day to day expenses, they are accepted most places and will handle the currency conversion at a reasonable rate. You can call them ahead of time to find out if there are any fees and / or if you need to provide them with a travel notification. If you would like to withdraw Canadian cash, some U.S. banks have Canadian partner banks that will allow you to use their ATM's without a fee. Contact your bank for details ahead of the trip.
Will I need to speak any French?
You will definitely have the opportunity, but most of Montreal is very bilingual. You can navigate the city pretty well without knowing French. If you're on your own and having trouble reading a sign, most smartphones will now translate for you through the camera. Familiarize yourself with this feature before traveling.
What is the weather like? How should I dress?
Winter months (December through March) are typically very cold, below-freezing temperatures are the norm. Winter coat and boots are a must. Summer months (June-August) can be very hot and humid, but it varies. The months in between can be more temperate but rainy. In any of the year it's recommend that you check the weather a few days in advance of your trip to get the latest conditions and pack accordingly.
